Spring is on its way to My Pineapple Home and, after what felt like the coldest, longest winter ever, I was really excited to brighten up my house a little bit.
I added a mix of chrysanthemums, roses, carnations, and a few other flowers to two of these vases I frequently display on my family room mantle. Between them I filled two of these long vases. I love the pop of color this provides and the bright, fresh feel they bring to this wall. I also played around with these vases and had them on my island for a few days and they looked so beautiful in my kitchen. I can also see them on a windowsill and will likely do that in our guest room when we have family visit this summer.

I have been collecting Schweizer Pewter table ornaments since my children were little. This year, instead of putting them on our kitchen table, only to have them always get knocked over, I decided to make a little vignette in my vestibule. I love them their greeting guests with some of my collection of Ukrainian Easter eggs. These are handmade in Germany and, while pricey, offer such a sweetened happy aesthetic. They can be purchased here.
Keeping with the bunny theme, my absolute favorite little touch to keep in our bathrooms at this time of year is my goat milk and shea butter grapefruit hand soap. It is the sweetest little useful decoration, and happens to be an amazing Easter basket filler. The grapefruit oil is brightening and filled with antioxidants, and the goat milk and shea butter are nourishing. Click here to purchase them.
Lastly, but certainly not least, are my favorite little items that signify spring to me: Mărțișor. These sweet little charms come in a wide variety of little trinkets to silver charms, tiny delights, and colorful symbols of Romanian tradition. They are given in Romania on March 1st and are worn pinned to a lapel or tied on trees. The twisted red and white string symbolize hope, renewal and the balance of nature. My grandmother and mother have been giving them to me for my whole life and I have a wonderful collection. I have gifted them to friends, and now decided to tie them to these branches I have in a vase to accompany my little wooden Easter ornaments from Germany. You can purchase these on Etsy if you don’t go to Romania and they make such lovely little tokens. My daughter gave them to her whole class one year in preschool and they were such a hit.
