I’m a big fan of quick crafts and I’m an even bigger fan of cocktails. But, I like to keep my counters in good condition.

I got this idea from two places: someone on social media whose name I misplaced, and in my travels to Europe, where disposable coasters are so beautiful and decorative. I have actually saved several from places where we dined.

You need three items, a short bit of time, and a little bit of creativity. As you know, architecture is a love of mine, and in designing our house I paid special attention to our front door and its transom and side lites. When I created My Pineapple Home, an offshoot from Pineapple Home Apothecary, I knew instantly my logo would be my front door. For this project, I made a drawing online and then put it into Google Docs, added script beneath it, and then uploaded it to Amazon, where I ordered this custom 2″ rubber stamp. I was concerned the fine lines on my design would be too thin to show up on the weave of fabric, but it worked out just fine.

I ordered this roll of cocktail napkins/coasters and feel like they look really nice and handled the ink well. I was nervous about ink bleeding onto my counters, so I bought a permanent ink pad for my stamp. This is what I used and it worked well and seems indelible to any sweating wine glasses or double-old fashioneds.

This could be a great addition to a hostess or housewarming gift, or a stocking stuffer with a great bottle opener, bottle stoppers, or a bottle of your favorite bubbly. My favorite sparkling wine and champagne wine stoppers are surprisingly affordable, but extremely efficient. I use this one and take it with me to my local winery in the off chance I don’t finish the bottle of sparkling rose I ordered.

Let me know if you felt inspired by this quick craft. And, pro tip: if you’re not creative, plug your ideas into Chat GPT for a mockup or design.
