Unique Stocking Stuffers

Stocking Stuffer Ideas

For the Chef

  • I have had two of these Microplane graters  for over 20 years, use them multiple times a week, and find them indispensable for grating parmesan, ginger, nutmeg, chocolate, and several other things. So far, they haven’t dulled. We also have a larger version for softer cheese, bigger shreds of chocolate, etc.

  • I always though this Pampered Chef Garlic Mincer was a gimmick and then I needed to place a Pampered Chef order to support a friend and find I basically use this daily and can’t be without it. It goes through the dishwasher just fine, but is also easy to clean by hand, thanks to the cute little brush element that fits into the holes to clear them out.

  • I have two sets of measuring cups and strongly prefer these, which  are so great because  they are properly weighed, somehow easier to hold, and have looked brand new for the 20 years I’ve had them.

For the Globetrotter

  • I’ve gifted these leather luggage tags from the iconic Aspinal of London a few times and always get them monogrammed. They present very well, wear well, and are a great gift for the person who has everything.

  • I take this universal adapter to Europe and love that it meets the prong configuration for a number of countries.

  • Put one of these Apple air tags this in your luggage, in your handbag, attach it to your keys, hide it in your vehicle or in your camera bag. The uses are endless.

For the Hostess

  • Shameless plug, but Pineapple Home Apothecary soaps, candles, lotions, and diffusers make a great first impression, but they captivate the recipient every day. Most fragrances are inspired by my background in Art History or by my travels, all are comprised of sustainable, often organic ingredients, and each is guaranteed to impress.

  •  If I have enough warning, I order monogrammed cocktail napkins or a pair of tea towels. There are numerous options on Etsy, but I have also posted on my local Facebook pages to see if I could support someone in my area as well.  If I don’t know the aesthetic or colors they love, I choose black or taupe for the thread color.
  • I have gifted these waxed amaryllis bulbs to myself and others several times. I have only purchased the gold, but all are great. They look so beautiful on a windowsill or in a grouping of three on a console table or down the center of a dining table. I don’t think they are supposed to rebloom, but mine all have, which is a great bonus.

For the Beauty Aficionado

  • Officine Universellel Buly is a treat for the senses and, if you can’t make the trip to their boutique in Paris, their website offers the same products and level of customization. I own, and have gifted thrice now, monogrammed lip balms and they are so well-received. You can choose your colors for the case, the lid, and how you want your monogram to look. They each come in a little suede-like pouch and are wrapped so beautifully in specialty paper that is gorgeously tied.

  • I have this lighted magnification mirror from Brookstone and, while its counter footprint is pretty large, it has been a lifesaver over and over.

For the Camper/Hiker/Outdoor-Enthusiast

  • If I had a dollar for every time my husband gifted an o light to a teacher, advisor, friend, relative, or neighbor…..I will say, however, that these are the brightest flashlights I’ve ever encountered and they are so easily rechargeable. They come in a multitidue of sizes, are often on sale, and even have a strobe feature (don’t use this if you don’t want to temporarily blind yourself). We have the traditional style and also several of the orb-shaped ones, which our children sometimes keep on their nightstand and which are also magnetic, so you can put them above you on a bunk bed, in a car, camping, etc.

  • I gifted my husband a Garmin In-Reach for Christmas last year and I think he thinks it’s the best thing I ever bought him. We activate the subscription before he goes on a trip so that we don’t have to pay for it year round. It has been indispensable for camping trips where he otherwise wouldn’t be able to contact me, or anyone, in an emergency. The feature list is lengthy, so check out all it offers and compare models before a purchase.

  • Grayl water filters are another item we have gifted to multiple people and everyone appreciates them. My husband actually brings them to tournaments when we travel for our kids because you can use them for drinking fountain or hotel water if you worry its not great.
